TEHRAN -- The secretary of the 22nd Fajr International Music Festival said on Tuesday the upcoming event, unlike previous editions, will put high-quality works on spotlight.

Speaking at a press conference at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall, Kambiz Roshanravan added that the festival’s organizing committee comprising Iranian virtuosos aims to outline the best ever program in proportion to the facilities.

Different bands, including women, youth, and local along with groups from Muslim nations are slated to perform at the non-competitive festival, he stated.

The festival will be held at 10 halls, Niavaran and Bahman cultural centers, and Iranian Artists Forum, Roshanravan explained.

Various ensembles from Muslim states and South American countries like Chile are scheduled to participate in the event from Dec. 31, 2006 to Jan. 8, 2007.
